Burglaries are on the rise throughout the United States. Burglary offenses make up more than of crimes in the US. Homeowners must take action in order to prevent themselves from becoming another statistic in the long list of people who have already fallen victim to home invasions.
How to Protect your Home from Burglary
Locks- Change the locks on your home if you have minimal lock protection. Dead bolts that require a key on both side is a start. Dead bolts are much more difficult to break open than the average door lock. Use both locks each night along with a chain.
Alarms- Purchase an alarm system for the home. Some alarms are much cheaper than others but work to scare the potential thief, causing him or her to flee.
Cameras- Surveillance cameras can be purchased and easily installed on the outside of the home as well as the inside. These systems deter thieves from entering your home. If the thief is still determined, they are caught on tape and easily prosecuted when captured.
Protecting your home from burglary is an important step in maintaining safety around the home. Your family deserves the best protection possible. Make it hard on thieves to steal your hard earned possessions.
